Position Overview:

My client is looking to bring on a hands-on Electrical Engineering Manager who will work on the full design cycle, getting involved in projects from conception to delivery, and lead the electrical engineering team. The Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for the engineering process, technical direction, program budget/cost, various administrative tasks, building out the engineering team, and technical proposal support!

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design & development of electronic systems and circuit card assemblies.
  • Manage PCB process.
  • Integrate electronic design, PCB layout, and component functions.
  • Oversee electrical engineering projects.
  • Act as SME and provide technical support as needed.
  • Lead technical reviews, release of electrical drawings and documentation, CCA troubleshooting, and RCCAs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 15 years of electrical/electronic engineering experience with 5 years of management experience in a small to mid-sized company.
  • Aerospace, Defense, and/or Space industry experience.
  • High-speed PCB design up to 16GHz.
  • Familiar with switch fabric protocols like PCIe and VME.
  • Experience designing electronic assemblies with processors like ARM, x86, PowerPC.
  • Expertise in various data communication protocols like Ethernet, CAN, ARINC standards, MIL-STD-1553, etc.
  • Exposure to VHDL programming and overseeing outsourced design activities.

Desired Qualifications

  • FPGA (Xilinx, Altera, Microsemi, Lattice).
  • Techniques for mitigating EMI, signal interference, and simulation tools (Spice, Hyperlynx).
  • AI/ML principles and their application.
  • Video interface standards (DVI/HDMI, DisplayPort, ARINC-818, STANAG 3350, PAL/NTSC/RS-170, LVDS).
  • Relevant industry standards: MIL-STD-810/DO-160, MIL-STD-461, MIL-HDBK-217.
  • Modular system architectures (VPX, VME, SOSA, XMC, PMC).
  • RTOS (VxWorks, Integrity, FreeRTOS).
