Document Control Manager – Industrial Operations – West Texas

 

An advanced industrial organization is seeking a Document Control Manager to lead document control and records management for complex, safety-critical operations. This role is ideal for a document control professional with experience in large-scale industrial, chemical process, power generation, or oil & gas environments.

The Document Control Manager will act as the central authority for technical documentation, supporting engineering, operations, maintenance, and quality teams. The ideal candidate understands disciplined document control in regulated facilities where accuracy, traceability, and fast retrieval are essential.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage document control systems for engineering, operations, maintenance, quality, and regulatory documentation.
  • Control document creation, review, approval, revision, distribution, and archival.
  • Maintain controlled documents such as procedures, work instructions, specifications, drawings, and records.
  • Coordinate document updates tied to design changes, facility modifications, and configuration management.
  • Ensure document accuracy, version control, traceability, and retrievability.
  • Support audits, inspections, and external reviews.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure documentation reflects current facility conditions.
  • Enforce document control standards and records retention requirements.

 

Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years of document control experience in industrial, chemical process, power, or oil & gas environments.
  • Experience supporting regulated or safety-critical facilities.
  • Hands-on experience managing technical and operational documentation.
  • Familiarity with change control, configuration management, or MOC-type processes.
  • Experience using electronic document management systems (EDMS).

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong preference for candidates located in or willing to relocate to West Texas (West of Fort Worth).
