Overview

We’re partnered with a well-established commercial general contractor in North Carolina that is looking to add an Assistant Project Manager to support projects in the Asheville, NC area. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their project management career to join a collaborative team and gain exposure to a strong pipeline of work across healthcare, education, and institutional sectors.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the Project Manager in all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting
  • Help manage project schedules and ensure key milestones are met
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
  • Assist in reviewing drawings, submittals, and RFIs
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure accuracy across all records
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate updates with stakeholders
  • Help ensure projects are executed in accordance with contract documents and quality standards
  • Promote and support jobsite safety initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–5 years of experience in construction, preferably in an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer role
  • Experience with commercial construction projects (healthcare, higher education, or K-12 experience is a plus)
  • Exposure to both ground-up and renovation projects is preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore or similar construction software is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
