Senior Backend Engineer — Connectivity & Telemetry Platform (NYC, On-Site)
Our client is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to help build a new AI-powered platform that designs and simulates WiFi and cellular networks. Our product turns real-world connectivity data into powerful planning tools used by providers and enterprises.
This role is ideal for a backend-focused engineer who enjoys working on data-heavy systems, ingestion pipelines, and reliable services and is interested in how device and telemetry data flows into cloud platforms. You do not need deep device or embedded experience, strong backend Python and data pipeline experience is the priority.
You’ll join a small, early-stage team and have real ownership over core backend systems from day one.
What You’ll Do
- Build and scale Python backend services that ingest and process telemetry and connectivity data
- Design and improve data ingestion and processing pipelines
- Develop APIs and backend systems that support simulation and analytics features
- Help define how device and network data is collected, structured, and used
- Improve reliability, monitoring, and performance across backend services
- Work closely with product and engineering teammates to ship production features quickly
- Contribute in a startup environment where engineers own projects end-to-end
What We’re Looking For
- 5–10 years of backend or platform engineering experience
- Strong production experience with Python
- Experience building data pipelines, ingestion systems, or telemetry/metrics platforms
- Experience building backend services and APIs in the cloud (AWS preferred)
- Solid database experience (Postgres, Redis, or similar)
- Startup experience (seed to Series A stage strongly preferred)
- Comfortable working on-site in New York City
- Interest in systems, infrastructure, device data, or networking is a plus — but not required
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience with IoT, device, or edge-related software
- Experience with observability, metrics, or monitoring systems
- Experience working with high-volume event or time-series data
Join a small, high-impact team building next-generation connectivity and network simulation technology — with real ownership, real users, and real scale ahead.
