This company is a specialized engineering services provider supporting electric utilities across generation, transmission, and distribution, delivering end-to-end solutions. Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of MV and HV substations up to 500 kV.
- Develop and review engineering deliverables, including single-line diagrams, substation layouts, protection and control schematics, grounding systems, and AC/DC auxiliary systems.
- Specify major equipment such as power transformers, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, instrument transformers, and protection relays.
- Perform and review engineering studies (e.g., short-circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, and grounding).
- Ensure compliance with IEEE, ANSI, NESC, NEC, and NERC standards as well as client specifications.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and serve as a technical liaison with clients, utilities, and vendors.
- Support procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, including review of vendor drawings and participation in FAT/SAT when required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- 9+ years MV/HV Substation design experience (P&C or physical)
- PE Certificate
- Entergy experience is a requirement
