Job Summary

Seeking an experienced engineer to support the development and optimization of electrified powertrain systems for current and next-generation electric vehicle platforms. This role will focus on simulation strategy development, system modeling, controls integration, and powertrain optimization workflows. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in controls and/or systems engineering with hands-on experience modeling complex electrified propulsion systems. This position requires collaboration across cross-functional engineering teams to solve challenging technical problems and deliver high-impact solutions.

Essential Duties

  • Develop electric powertrain multi-physics simulation strategies for real-world driving conditions, accounting for device uncertainties and nonlinearities.
  • Identify and define requirements for new technologies and features related to electrified propulsion systems, engines, and transmissions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to decompose, define, and quantify controls system requirements.
  • Develop electrified powertrain system models and determine power requirements for all major powertrain components.
  • Ensure system robustness and quality through use of simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, CarSim, AVL Cruise, or equivalent modeling environments.
  • Support component sizing activities and overall system architecture development.
  • Run and analyze models to validate thermal and power performance requirements across the system.
  • Partner with Controls, Calibration, and Validation teams to support development activities and issue resolution.
  • Contribute to system-level optimization of electric propulsion architectures and vehicle performance.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, controls development, calibration, or electrified powertrain development.
  • Hands-on experience developing electrified powertrain models using MATLAB/Simulink, AVL Cruise, CarSim, or equivalent tools.
  • Proven ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives in collaborative engineering environments.
  • Highly experienced with MATLAB/Simulink, AVL Cruise, and/or CarSim is required.
