Senior Hydraulics & Hydrology Engineer – Hydropower Infrastructure

Salary: $200,000 base + up to 15% annual bonus
Our client, a fast-growing U.S. renewable energy developer, is looking to add a Senior Hydraulics & Hydrology (H&H) Engineer to its engineering team. This is a particularly compelling opportunity for an H&H engineer who enjoys the technical side of the discipline but wants to work closer to the actual development and ownership of major infrastructure projects, rather than spending their career purely within traditional consulting.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Hydraulic and hydrologic analysis and modeling of major water infrastructure
- 1D/2D hydraulic modeling and surface development
- Analysis of scour, erosion, sediment transport, flood risk, ice impacts, and hydraulic transients
- Hydraulic structure and water conveyance design — intakes, tailraces, channels, cofferdams, and related infrastructure
- FEMA floodplain / No-Rise analysis
- Supporting the development of new hydropower projects from early-stage engineering through construction
- Working alongside civil, structural, and mechanical engineers on multidisciplinary projects
- Providing technical input that directly influences project and commercial decisions
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of Hydraulics & Hydrology / Water Resources experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Strong HEC-RAS experience
- Experience with hydraulic structures, rivers, dams, hydropower, flood control, or similar infrastructure
- Exposure to USACE projects/standards highly desirable
- Experience with Civil 3D, ArcGIS/Esri, and GeoHECRAS advantageous
