Drywall Prefabrication Design Manager
About the role
Our client is growing its prefabrication operation and is hiring a Drywall Prefabrication Design Manager to lead the design and coordination of prefabricated drywall and interior wall systems. You’ll work closely with architects, contractors, preconstruction, and production teams, supporting projects from design through fabrication and installation.
You’ll develop and coordinate drywall prefab designs in Autodesk Revit. That includes producing shop drawings, fabrication drawings, IFC/field drawings, and the fabrication tickets that drive production. Prefabricated interior wall systems typically involve panelized light-gauge metal framing and drywall assemblies. They’re modeled to a high level of detail, often LOD 350-400, so panels can be built accurately off-site, and Revit framing add-ins are commonly used to automate stud layouts and cut lists.
Coordination is central to the role. You’ll coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, and drywall systems, and review plans to catch constructability and coordination issues before they reach the shop floor. That work usually involves clash detection in Navisworks and markup and review in Bluebeam, with models shared through platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud.
You’ll also help shape how the prefab operation works, improving design standards, workflows, and processes as it grows.
