About the role

Our client is developing a new industrial facility and is hiring a Chemical Engineer to lead chemical process modeling using Aspen Plus. The models you build will support the design, optimization, and scale-up of the facility, so your work will directly shape how it’s designed and how its processes develop.

You’ll build process models for chemical and/or metallurgical processes, including systems involving solids in vapor-solid and liquid-solid reaction environments. That calls for more than standard flowsheet work. You’ll develop custom physical property datasets and electrolyte models, which in Aspen Plus typically means working with property methods such as ELECNRTL, regressing property parameters against experimental or literature data, and using the solids modeling capabilities to represent particle handling and solid-phase reactions.

You’ll also connect Aspen Plus models with external tools such as Excel, commonly through VBA or the Aspen Plus automation interface, so results can feed into wider design and engineering work. Throughout, you’ll translate modeling outputs into clear insights that inform facility design and process development decisions.

Main responsibilities
  • Lead chemical process modeling using Aspen Plus
  • Develop models for chemical and/or metallurgical processes
  • Build custom physical property datasets and electrolyte models
  • Model processes involving solids in vapor-solid and liquid-solid reaction environments
  • Integrate Aspen Plus models with external tools such as Excel
  • Provide modeling insights that directly inform facility design and process development
Requirements
  • B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering or a related field
  • Demonstrated hands-on Aspen Plus model development experience
  • Strong background in chemical process simulation and modeling

This role suits a chemical engineer with deep Aspen Plus experience who wants to see their models shape a facility from the design stage. If that sounds like you, apply below.
