About the role

Our client is an established water treatment company. It’s growing its Business Development team with a Director focused on the municipal drinking water market across North America. You’ll lead new business activity for engineered water and wastewater treatment solutions, building the relationships that win projects in the municipal space.

Much of the work happens long before a contract is signed. You’ll build trust with municipal utilities, consulting engineers, EPCs, and contractors, helping shape opportunities at the design and specification stage and seeing them through to project award. Municipal projects typically involve long sales cycles, public procurement processes, and close collaboration with the engineers who write specifications. Patience and technical credibility matter as much as commercial drive.

The opportunities you’ll pursue involve technologies such as reverse osmosis, membrane systems, filtration, and other engineered treatment systems. That means you’ll be comfortable discussing treatment processes, system design considerations, and regulatory drivers with technical audiences. Those drivers include Safe Drinking Water Act compliance and emerging contaminant requirements.

This is a hunter role. The organization is looking for someone who can open doors, build a pipeline, and grow its municipal footprint across the region.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with municipal utilities, consulting engineers, EPCs, and contractors
  • Identify and drive opportunities involving RO, membranes, filtration, and engineered treatment systems

  • Proven experience selling capital equipment or engineered systems
  • Strong technical understanding of water treatment technologies and processes
