Director, SEC Reporting
Location: Remote, with travel to Connecticut / Full-time
About the role
Our client is a well-established energy technology business backed by a Fortune 500 parent organization. It delivers advanced power solutions to commercial and industrial customers in a growing part of the energy market. The company is hiring a Director of SEC Reporting to lead its external financial reporting function.
You’ll own the preparation and review of the company’s SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K reports, and oversee quarterly and annual external reporting under US GAAP and SEC requirements. Filings of this kind typically involve XBRL tagging and disclosure management platforms such as Workiva. You’ll manage complex technical accounting matters and disclosures, including guidance on acquisitions, consolidations, and complex transactions under standards such as ASC 805 and ASC 810.
Controls are a key part of the role. You’ll strengthen SOX compliance, internal controls, and reporting procedures, commonly built around the COSO framework, and work closely with external auditors throughout the reporting cycle.
This is a leadership role with direct exposure to senior finance leadership. You’ll help build scalable reporting processes and systems, and support strategic financial initiatives as the company develops its reporting infrastructure.
