About the role
Our client is a growing technology company hiring a hands-on Electromechanical Engineer. You’ll design, integrate, and prototype electrical and mechanical hardware for advanced electronic and optoelectronic products, and help take it into production.
The role sits across disciplines. You’ll bring together PCBs, electronic components, interconnects, and mechanical structures into hardware that works and can be manufactured reliably. You’ll design and lay out PCBs in tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or OrCAD, model mechanical parts in SolidWorks, and choose components and materials using datasheets and supplier resources. Products like these often involve high-frequency signals and precise thermal control. That means work in this space can include controlled-impedance design, electromagnetic simulation in tools such as HFSS or CST, and thermoelectric cooler (TEC) based temperature control.
Hands-on build and test is a big part of the job. You’ll assemble, debug, test, and characterize hardware, using Python or similar scripting languages to automate tests and analyze data. Optoelectronic packaging of this kind may also involve specialized processes such as die attach, wire or ribbon bonding, hermetic sealing, and fiber attachment. Products for high-reliability markets are often qualified against standards such as MIL-STD-883 or Telcordia GR-468.
As designs mature, you’ll help move prototypes into production, working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams on DFM, process development, and yield.
