Location: Texas / Compensation: Base salary + benefits
About the role
Our client is a well-established, growing General Contractor in Texas, adding an Estimator to its team. You’ll prepare detailed estimates for commercial construction projects and support them from preconstruction through to handoff.
You’ll review drawings, specifications, and bid documents, carry out quantity takeoffs, and build accurate cost estimates. Much of the role involves subcontractor pricing. You’ll solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, then level them so scopes are compared on a like-for-like basis. GC estimating of this kind typically spans multiple CSI divisions and different delivery methods, such as hard bid, negotiated, and GMP. It’s commonly supported by tools such as Bluebeam Revu, On-Screen Takeoff, or Sage Estimating, with cost references like RSMeans.
You’ll also look for value-engineering opportunities that keep projects competitive without compromising scope. Working closely with project management and operations teams, you’ll help make sure estimates carry through cleanly once projects are awarded.
