Senior Full Stack Engineer
Location: New York, NY / Hybrid / Salary: $190,000 – $250,000
About the role
Our client is a healthcare technology company approaching Series C funding. It’s hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to own product development end to end. You’ll build reliable, scalable solutions across the frontend, backend, and data systems, with real ownership of how features are designed, built, and maintained.
The work sits in healthcare revenue cycle management, the processes behind how care is billed and paid for. That includes eligibility checks, claims, and payments, as well as the systems that connect providers, payers, and patients. Much of it involves moving health data between systems reliably, which in this space typically means working with interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR, and handling sensitive data in line with HIPAA requirements.
The core stack is TypeScript throughout, with Vue 3 on the frontend and Node, Express, and MongoDB/Mongoose on the backend. You’ll also build workflows that manage complex, multi-step processes, which means designing for retries, failures, and edge cases rather than assuming everything goes to plan.
The organization is looking for engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, are comfortable navigating ambiguity, and care about writing thoughtful, maintainable software that makes a real difference for users.
Main responsibilities
- Own product development end to end, from design through delivery
- Build reliable, scalable solutions across the frontend, backend, and data systems
- Develop frontend features using TypeScript and Vue 3
- Build backend services with Node, Express, and MongoDB/Mongoose
- Design workflows that handle complex processes, retries, and failures
- Work on systems that move health data between different platforms
- Write maintainable, well-structured code that delivers meaningful impact for users
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production web applications
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management
- Strong TypeScript skills and experience with modern frontend frameworks
- Backend experience with Node, Express, and MongoDB/Mongoose
- Hands-on Vue 3 experience
Nice to have:
- Strong understanding of how care is delivered, including how patients move through the system and care pathways
- Experience moving health data between different systems
- Familiarity with developer platforms used to build applications that communicate with clients
- Experience working in a monorepo
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure
- Experience building reliable workflows that handle complex processes, retries, and failures
