Chemical / Process Engineer – Hydrometallurgy

Full-time, On-site

Our client is a rapidly growing critical minerals processing company focused on building domestic supply chains for rare earths and strategic metals. Backed by significant government and private investment, the company is expanding its operations and engineering team as it scales innovative extraction and refining technologies across the United States

This is an opportunity to join a high-growth organization and play a key role in advancing critical mineral processing from development through commercial production.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and optimization of hydrometallurgical and chemical processing systems, including ion exchange, solvent extraction, leaching, and electrochemistry processing operations.
  • Support commissioning, startup, and ramp-up activities for new processing facilities.
  • Identify process improvements to maximize recovery, throughput, product quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, R&D, project engineering, and executive leadership teams.
  • Develop mass and energy balances, process simulations, equipment specifications, and process control strategies.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex metallurgical and process engineering challenges.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers and technical staff.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in process engineering, chemical, hydrometallurgical, or minerals processing operations
  • Bachelor’s in metallurgical engineering, chemical engineering, or any related field.
  • Direct experience processing one or more of the following: Rare Earth Elements (REEs), Gallium, Germanium, Scandium, Vanadium, Tantalum, Uranium, etc.
