Lumicity has partnered with an exciting and expanding company operating within the clean energy and power generation space on their search for a Lead Power Electronics Engineer to join their team. Our client is focused on developing advanced industrial energy solutions to produce energy. The ideal candidate holds strong experience in certifications and compliance of power conversion systems, inverters, and industrial electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design process for power electronics and power conversion systems from conception through validation
  • Review, support, and amend electrical system designs and schematics to ensure compliance
  • Identify relevant global electrical safety standards early in the design phase to ensure systems meet electrical safety requirements (protection, fault handling, safe operation, etc.)
  • Evaluate key safety considerations such as insulation, grounding, creepage and clearance distances, and implement design improvements where required
  • Develop technical documentation, including risk assessments and compliance reports
  • Support EMC/EMI design and testing activities, including mitigation strategy development and compliance testing coordination

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Relevant experience in Electrical Design and Compliance within clean energy, power generation, or a similar industry
  • Strong understanding of electrical certifications and compliance standards (UL, IEC, CSA, EN, etc.)
  • Proven experience certifying power electronics and electrical systems
  • Strong electrical design skillset, with the ability to review and assess designs for compliance and safety
  • Familiarity with EMC/EMI compliance and testing (advantageous)
  • Experience with conversion equipment, power systems, or energy-related technologies (advantageous)
