Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA / In office 4-5 days a week / Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 base + equity
About the role
Our client is a well-funded, early-stage company applying AI to robotics and physical systems. The founding team has built and scaled companies before, and the group is small and growing quickly. The company is hiring one of the first members of its recruiting team, giving you the chance to join early and help shape how the team is built.
You’ll own the engineering hiring funnel from first conversation to signed offer. That means sourcing and engaging engineers in robotics, machine learning, and embedded systems, including passive candidates who aren’t actively looking. Technical sourcing at this level typically involves LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, GitHub, and research publications and conference speaker lists, all managed through an applicant tracking system such as Ashby, Greenhouse, or Lever.
You’ll run first-round screens, including a basic technical evaluation before candidates move on to the engineers. You’ll also manage the full process from scheduling and feedback through to offers. A big part of the role is telling the company’s story well. You’ll present the company and its mission to candidates and close the ones the team wants to hire.
You’ll work directly with the founders and engineering leaders, partnering with them to define what great looks like for each role. You’ll track pipeline metrics such as response rates, time to fill, and offer acceptance, and use them to keep improving the process. As the company scales, there’s room to grow into a bigger role and build out the recruiting function.
