Our client is an innovative nuclear engineering organization developing next-generation energy technology within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment. They are seeking a Nuclear Engineer III – Nuclear Safety Analysis to support the design, analysis, and safety evaluation of advanced reactor systems and associated technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Perform nuclear safety analyses and engineering evaluations using sound engineering principles and established design control processes
- Support reactor and system design activities related to radiological safety, shielding, reactivity control, and core performance
- Execute calculations and simulations using industry-standard nuclear safety analysis tools and methodologies
- Interpret technical challenges and recommend improvements to engineering processes, tools, and methodologies
- Ensure engineering work complies with applicable standards, procedures, and configuration management requirements
- Participate in internal and external technical reviews while maintaining thorough documentation of engineering activities
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of experience in nuclear engineering or a related regulated industry environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex technical tasks
- Ability to collaborate effectively within remote and hybrid engineering teams
- Must be eligible to satisfy applicable U.S. export control and regulatory requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with nuclear safety analysis codes and methodologies such as MELCOR, RADTRAD, SAPHIRE, SCALE, or ORIGEN
- Familiarity with NQA-1 quality assurance standards in a nuclear environment
- Experience with engineering software platforms and advanced digital engineering tools
- Background working in fast-paced or innovation-driven engineering organizations
