Senior Data Center Power Systems Engineer
Location: Remote (with travel) / Salary: Up to $220,000 base + bonus
About the role
Our client is a power systems and power conversion technology company. It designs and manufactures electrical power solutions for mission-critical industries, with a strong focus on data centers. It’s hiring a Senior Data Center Power Systems Engineer to help develop its power systems and to build and grow its engineering team.
You’ll bring experience leading the design of complete electrical power systems, and you’ll apply it to products and solutions built for mission-critical infrastructure. Data center power system design typically covers utility interconnection, medium- and low-voltage distribution, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, power conversion, and backup generation. It’s usually supported by system studies such as load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash analysis, using tools like ETAP or SKM. Design work in this space is generally carried out to standards such as the NEC, IEEE, and UL.
Reliability, efficiency, and scalability are the priorities across everything you’ll work on. Alongside your technical contribution, you’ll play a part in shaping and growing the engineering team as the company expands. The role is remote, with travel as required.
Main responsibilities
- Develop power systems and power conversion solutions for data centers and other mission-critical industries
- Lead electrical power system design, focused on reliability, efficiency, and scalability
- Help build and grow the engineering team
- Travel as required to support projects and clients
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in power systems, data centers, mission-critical, marine, or industrial power infrastructure
- Experience leading the design of a complete electrical power system
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship
