About the role

Our client is hiring a hands-on Robotics Technician to help assemble, integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify complex electromechanical systems. You’ll work directly with mechanical and electrical hardware, from early prototypes through to low-volume production builds, as the designs continue to evolve.

Much of the role is building. You’ll put together mechanical and electrical components following engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions, and you’ll assemble cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, connectors, and low-voltage electrical systems. Work of this kind is typically carried out to workmanship standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 for cables and harnesses and IPC J-STD-001 for soldering, with ESD-safe handling of sensitive electronics.

Once systems are built, you’ll help bring them to life. You’ll support system bring-up, commissioning, calibration, continuity checks, signal verification, and functional testing using tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, torque tools, and dimensional measurement equipment. When something isn’t right, you’ll investigate through inspection, electrical measurements, and test results, track down the root cause, and carry out approved repairs, component changes, and modifications.

Accurate records matter at every stage. You’ll document build information, test results, inspections, configuration details, and serial numbers, and feed what you learn back to engineering and manufacturing teams to improve assembly, integration, and test processes.

Main responsibilities
  • Build and integrate mechanical and electrical components according to engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and other technical documentation
  • Assemble cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, connectors, and low-voltage electrical systems
  • Perform electrical and mechanical checks using equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, torque tools, and dimensional measurement equipment
  • Assist with system bring-up, commissioning, calibration, continuity checks, signal verification, and functional testing
  • Investigate hardware issues through inspection, electrical measurements, test results, and root cause troubleshooting
  • Perform approved repairs, component changes, modifications, and other corrective work
  • Document build information, test results, inspections, configuration details, serial numbers, and engineering feedback
  • Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve assembly, integration, testing, and production processes
  • Support prototype and low-volume production builds as hardware evolves
Requirements
  • Professional experience assembling, repairing, testing, or troubleshooting complex electromechanical equipment
  • Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, assembly instructions, and parts documentation
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, connectors, cable termination, soldering, fastening, and basic electrical troubleshooting
  • Comfortable using tools such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, torque tools, and bench power supplies
  • Experience identifying hardware defects, assembly issues, quality problems, and nonconformances
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to document technical work accurately

Nice to have:

  • Experience with robotics, automation, aerospace, automotive, medical devices, or other advanced hardware
  • Familiarity with components such as motors, actuators, sensors, gearboxes, PCBs, wiring harnesses, batteries, pneumatic systems, or precision mechanisms
  • Experience with prototype builds, hardware bring-up, calibration, reliability testing, engineering changes, or low-volume manufacturing
  • Comfortable working in an R&D, prototype, or new product introduction environment where designs and processes change frequently

This role suits a skilled technician who enjoys building, testing, and troubleshooting complex hardware while it’s still taking shape. If that sounds like you, apply below.
