Contract / Duration: 3-6 months, with potential extension or conversion / Working pattern: 40 hours per week
About the role
Our client is a robotics company hiring a Robotics Technician to build, test, and prepare robotic systems for deployment in the field. You’ll work hands-on with the hardware, bringing together mechanical, electrical, and wiring components to produce working robots.
You’ll assemble and integrate motors, sensors, power systems, and onboard electronics. Work of this kind typically involves building and routing wire harnesses, crimping and soldering connections, and following workmanship standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620, along with ESD-safe handling of electronics.
Testing and troubleshooting are a big part of the job. You’ll follow testing procedures, configure equipment, and track down problems with electrical connections, components, and overall system function, typically using tools such as multimeters and power supplies. Because robots run on batteries and powered equipment, safe working practices are essential, particularly around lithium-ion batteries.
You’ll document results clearly and work closely with engineering teams, using technical drawings and instructions to guide each build. Once a robot passes testing, you’ll help prepare it for deployment.
