About the role

Our client is a robotics and advanced manufacturing company in Boston. It’s hiring a Manufacturing Engineer II to support production and improve manufacturing processes for its semiconductor robotics and electromechanical systems.

This is a hands-on role based on the manufacturing floor. You’ll work directly with technicians, troubleshoot production and quality issues as they come up, and lead process improvements. Manufacturing engineering for electromechanical assemblies like these typically involves writing and refining work instructions, and designing tooling and fixtures. It also involves applying tools such as PFMEA and control plans, and structured problem-solving methods like 8D for root cause analysis. Equipment built for semiconductor applications often also calls for careful contamination control, ESD-safe handling, and precise assembly.

You’ll also support new product introduction (NPI), helping take new designs into production, and work with CAD and GD&T to make sure parts and assemblies can be built consistently. Robotics experience is useful but not required, so this role is open to strong manufacturing engineers from other electromechanical or precision manufacturing backgrounds.

Main responsibilities
  • Support production of semiconductor robotics and electromechanical systems
  • Work directly with technicians on the manufacturing floor
  • Troubleshoot production and quality issues
  • Lead root cause analysis and drive process improvements
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), tooling, and fixtures

  • 2-5 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience
  • B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Strong experience with electromechanical assemblies and working directly with technicians
  • Proven troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and process improvement experience
  • U.S. citizenship

Nice to have:

  • Experience at the upper end of the 2-5 year range
