About the role
Our client is an established company in the renewable energy space, based in Northern Florida. It’s hiring an experienced Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join its growing team and work on power conversion projects from concept through to production.
You’ll design and prototype power electronics, then test, troubleshoot, and refine them as part of product development. The work centers on power converters, including DC-DC converters, within wider power systems. Power conversion design of this kind typically involves topologies such as buck, boost, LLC resonant, phase-shifted full bridge, or dual active bridge converters. It also involves wide-bandgap devices such as SiC and GaN, magnetics and gate driver design, and control loop development, commonly simulated in tools like LTspice or PLECS.
Taking products from concept to production means designing with reliability, thermal performance, and EMI in mind from the start. In renewable energy applications, products that connect to the grid are often certified to standards such as UL 1741 and IEEE 1547, so experience designing toward compliance is useful.
