Senior Wastewater Engineer (PE Required)
Location: Tampa, FL or Winter Haven, FL / Salary: $140,000 – $160,000 base
About the role
Our client is a growing engineering consulting firm hiring a Senior Wastewater Engineer to lead municipal wastewater infrastructure projects across Florida. You’ll manage treatment and conveyance projects from planning through construction, work directly with municipal clients, and mentor the engineers on your team.
You’ll own the delivery of each project, managing scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables while preparing and reviewing technical reports, specifications, and design documents. Conveyance work covers pump stations, force mains, and collection systems. Projects in Florida typically involve permitting through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), hydraulic analysis to size and evaluate systems, and design production in tools such as Civil 3D.
Client and regulatory relationships are central to the role. You’ll coordinate with regulatory agencies and municipal clients throughout each project, maintain strong relationships, and support business development as the firm grows.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll mentor junior engineers and technical staff, with the opportunity to move further into a leadership role.
Main responsibilities
- Lead wastewater treatment and conveyance projects from planning through construction

Requirements
- Florida PE license
- 10+ years of water/wastewater engineering experience
- Experience with municipal wastewater treatment and conveyance projects
- Strong project management and client-facing experience
- Background in pump stations, force mains, collection systems, and permitting
