Software Engineer – Motion Planning

SALARY
$150,000 – $240,000 USD plus equity and a comprehensive benefits package
Our client is searching for a Motion Planning Engineer to design and ship deterministic, safety-critical planning systems that ensure autonomous vehicles behave safely under degraded conditions or operational uncertainty. This role is grounded in classical motion planning and predictable behavior, with an emphasis on large-scale evaluation – not deep learning-driven planning.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in motion planning for autonomous vehicles or robotics
- Strong foundation in robotic motion planning algorithms and trajectory generation (optimization-, search-, or rule-based)
- Proficiency in C++ and experience working in real-time systems
BONUS
- Experience or familiarity with minimal-risk maneuvers (MRM), ML techniques, AV safety concepts, simulation frameworks or large-log analysis
