About the role
Our client is a well-funded, early-stage robotics start-up in New York City. It’s hiring Simulation Engineers to build the simulation systems used to develop, test, and evaluate its real-world robotic and autonomous systems.
You’ll work across the full simulation stack, including physics, environments, sensors, and large-scale simulation infrastructure. The work covers real-to-sim and sim-to-real, physics-based simulation, synthetic data generation, and digital environments, using tools such as Isaac Sim/Lab, MuJoCo, Gazebo, CARLA, or Unreal. Simulation work of this kind typically involves Python and C++, modeling sensors such as cameras, lidar, and IMUs, using techniques like domain randomization to make results transfer to physical hardware, and integrating with robotics frameworks such as ROS 2.
Scale is part of the challenge. Alongside building simulation systems, you may work on the tooling, infrastructure, and cloud or GPU workflows that let simulations run at volume.
The role comes with a high degree of ownership over core technical problems. You’ll work alongside a strong engineering and research team at an early stage of the company’s development.
Main responsibilities
