Location: Nashville, TN / Full-time / On-site / Salary: $85,000 – $105,000 base, depending on experience and qualifications
About the role
Our client is a growing solar energy equipment manufacturer with a startup environment. It’s hiring a Solar Project Engineer to join its mechanical team. You’ll contribute to the mechanical design process from initial concept through to completion, working on renewable energy technology as it’s developed.
The role combines design work with hands-on building. You’ll create designs in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software, then help turn them into physical prototypes using hand and power tools, fabrication techniques, and machine shop equipment. Mechanical design roles like this typically involve producing detailed drawings with GD&T, preparing bills of materials, and designing with manufacturability in mind.
Because the company operates at startup pace, you’ll have the chance to work across the full product development cycle and see your designs move quickly from screen to prototype. An understanding of electrical systems is useful, since solar equipment brings mechanical and electrical design together, but it isn’t required.
