Strategy & Business Development Associate/Manager – Energy Technology
Location: United States
About the role
Our client is a growing energy technology business, backed by a global industrial group, that develops energy infrastructure and distributed power solutions. It’s hiring into its Strategy & Business Development team, offering direct exposure to executive leadership and the chance to influence real commercial decisions.
This role suits someone from investment banking, management consulting, or infrastructure investing who wants to move into an operating business. It isn’t a traditional sales position. Around 60% of the role focuses on corporate strategy and market intelligence, with the remaining 40% on business development and strategic growth opportunities.
On the strategy side, you’ll carry out market research, competitive analysis, and industry benchmarking across energy, power, and infrastructure markets. You’ll also build financial models, valuations, and investment analyses to assess growth opportunities. Analysis in this space typically draws on DCF and comparable company valuation, market sizing (TAM/SAM), and energy-specific metrics such as levelized cost of energy (LCOE) to compare technologies and business cases.
You’ll evaluate market entry strategies, partnerships, acquisitions, and commercial opportunities, and turn your findings into clear recommendations and presentations for senior leadership. On the business development side, you’ll support early discussions with prospective partners and customers. Throughout, you’ll work directly with senior executives on strategic priorities and investment decisions.
