Substation Design Engineer (Drafter) – Physical / P&C | United States / Canada (Remote)
Physical Design OR Protection & Controls
Location: Remote – U.S. or Canada
Compensation: $110,000 – $140,000 USD (Senior $170,000 USD) + Bonus + ESOP
We’re partnering with a rapidly growing, employee-owned engineering consultancy that’s expanding its High Voltage Substation Engineering team across the U.S. and Canada.
Physical Substation Design
We’re looking for experience producing some combination of:
- General arrangements and substation layouts
- Equipment plans, elevations and section drawings
- Grounding plans and details
- Conduit, cable trench and raceway layouts
- Bus and equipment layouts
- Foundation/steel coordination
- 3D substation models
- AutoCAD and/or Inventor
- Substation Design Suite (SDS), particularly P4A/P4I, is a plus
Protection & Controls Design
We’re looking for experience producing some combination of:
- One-line and three-line diagrams
- AC/DC schematics
- Protection and control schematics
- Relay and control panel layouts
- Wiring and connection diagrams
- Cable schedules
- Complete P&C drawing packages
- AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software
What We’re Looking For
You could come from an engineering, design, or drafting background. More important than your current title is your ability to produce high-quality substation design deliverables yourself.
Ideally, you’ll have 3+ years of relevant substation design experience and exposure to medium- or high-voltage substations. Experience with utility, renewable energy, BESS, or transmission projects is beneficial.
