About the role

Our client is a growing renewable energy company in San Leandro, CA, focused on critical mineral refining and rare earth element extraction. As it scales its commercialization efforts, it’s hiring a Technical Program Manager to turn the technical roadmap into a clear, actionable schedule and drive execution across the organization.

This is a hands-on, operations-heavy role focused on delivering physical projects. You’ll own the master schedule across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning, setting milestones, dependencies, and priorities. You’ll also need a solid understanding of how equipment moves from design and procurement through installation and commissioning. Program management in process plant environments like this typically involves critical path scheduling in tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, tracking long-lead equipment, and coordinating factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT). It also usually involves supporting pre-startup safety reviews before systems go live.

You’ll coordinate engineering, procurement, EPC partners, and field operations across two sites, managing equipment procurement, site readiness, commissioning, and open issues. Being comfortable with PFDs, P&IDs, equipment, vendors, and lead times is essential, since much of the role depends on understanding what’s being built and what’s holding it up.

You’ll also manage technical and schedule risks, drive issues to resolution, and give clear program updates and documentation to senior leadership, investors, and DOE/DoW stakeholders.
