Our client is seeking a Vice President of Service to join as a founding-level leader, building an end-to-end service, warranty, charging, and customer support organization from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to define the post-sale strategy and infrastructure supporting a next-generation electric and hybrid vehicle platform in the United States. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this leader will design the infrastructure, processes, partner networks, and teams required to support a growing fleet across diverse customer segments – including transit agencies, municipalities, and commercial fleets. Both strategist and operator, they’ll build the systems and organization needed to deliver exceptional customer experiences, maximize vehicle uptime, and scale service operations alongside production growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and scale a service, warranty, charging, and customer support organization from the ground up
- Design the infrastructure, processes, and partner networks supporting a growing EV/hybrid fleet
- Support diverse customer segments, including transit agencies, municipalities, and commercial fleets
- Develop warranty strategies and manage service and warranty costs
- Establish performance standards across service operations
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance to improve field reliability and customer experience
- Build and lead teams as the organization scales alongside production growth
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Extensive leadership experience in service, aftersales, technical operations, automotive, commercial vehicles, transit, transportation equipment, or EVs
- Proven experience building and scaling service organizations, service networks, warranty programs, technical support operations, and third-party service partnerships
- Strong understanding of electric and hybrid vehicle systems, high-voltage safety, battery technology, EV charging, telematics, and remote diagnostics
- Demonstrated ability to develop warranty strategies, manage service and warranty costs, and establish performance standards
- Experience supporting commercial fleets, transit agencies, municipalities, government customers, or other fleet-based operations preferred
- Strong financial and business acumen, including budgeting, P&L management, warranty forecasting, and cost-reduction initiatives
- Proven ability to build teams, processes, and infrastructure in a startup, high-growth, or evolving environment
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills, with a customer-first mindset
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively
